What’s New in the 2022 Hyundai Sonata

The 2022 Hyundai Sonata is a carry-over model with the N Line Limited Edition added. The N Line trim is the most powerful Sonata ever built thanks to its beefy 290-horsepower turbocharged engine. The N Line boasts of an abundance of features that add to the sporty, coupe-like feel of the modern Sonata. From the exterior rework with a new front fascia that includes a new black mesh grille and larger air intakes to the rear fascia that was sculpted with a diffuser and two dual exhausts, the N Line screams performance.

The interior of the N Line was tastefully decorated with N Line sport seats, an 8-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission with paddle shifters, ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and more.

Not to be outdone, the other four trims (SE, SEL, SEL Plus, and Limited) remain trendsetters in the sedan market with one of the nicest cabins in the midsize car class, excellent gas mileage, modern look, and competent performance.

The Sonata’s base engine remains as a 191-horsepower 4-cylinder with an optional 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which is housed in the SEL Plus and Limited trims.

An 8-inch touchscreen remains standard with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay®, a six-speaker stereo, HD radio, and a USB port. A 10.25-inch screen continues to be optional. Other available features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, remote start, and Hyundai’s Digital Key.
